The “Sogym-FEST” Meat Fair Kicks Off Tomorrow in Astana

    Tomorrow, November 7, at 09:00, a large-scale meat fair «Соғым-FEST» will launch in Astana with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, within which more than 1,000 tons of meat products from domestic producers are planned to be sold. In the future, it is planned to scale the holding of such fairs to all regions of the country.

    The fair will feature farms from Akmola, Abai, Karaganda, Pavlodar and other regions of Kazakhstan.

    The main goal of the event is to provide the population with quality meat products at affordable prices, create conditions for direct sales of goods by domestic agricultural producers, and reduce the number of intermediaries between farmers and consumers.

    Holding such fairs is one of the tools for developing domestic trade, supporting domestic producers, and increasing the availability of food products for the population.

    «Соғым-FEST» is also aimed at preserving national traditions. Soğym is a long-standing Kazakh custom of stocking up meat for the winter, which, from generation to generation, brings families together at a common dastarkhan. Today, this tradition continues in a modern format, allowing residents to purchase meat products directly from farmers.

    The fairs will be held every weekend from 09:00 to 19:00 at three venues in the capital:

    • Keruen Joly Shopping Center — Alash Highway, 35B;

    • Et Älemi Shopping Center — Alash Highway, 31/1;

    • Jurt Shopping Center — Beibarys Sultan Street, 3.

    The Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues its work on developing direct channels for selling agricultural products, reducing unproductive intermediary links, and providing the population with food products at affordable prices.
