Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Mukhanov visited our region on a working trip. During his meeting with Kostanay Region Governor Kumar Aksakalov, the parties discussed the implementation of emergency prevention measures, industrial safety, and other relevant issues.
The regional governor noted that, in order to strengthen preparations for the flood season, the Department of Emergency Situations had been instructed to visit all settlements in the region and conduct monitoring by the end of October.
It is worth noting that since 2023, 5 billion tenge has been allocated to improve the material and technical resources of the Department of Emergency Situations. A total of 50 units of equipment have been purchased for areas at high risk of flooding.
“In 2023–2026, 9 billion tenge was allocated to equip the region’s forestry institutions with machinery and equipment. The purchases included 51 fire engines, 89 tractors, 39 forest firefighting units, 85 patrol vehicles, 42 motorcycles, as well as mounted and trailed equipment and communication devices.
The level of material and technical provision of forestry institutions has reached 100%. As a result of these systematic efforts, the area affected by forest fires in the region decreased by 33.8% this year, while the area affected by steppe fires fell by 96.8%,” said Kostanay Region Governor Kumar Aksakalov.
