The development of mass participation in sports and the creation of accessible sports infrastructure remain a key priority for the Head of State.

On Republic Day, Kostanay Region Akim Kumar Aksakalov took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Palace of Martial Arts in the regional capital. City residents and athletes also attended the event, where the first brick of the future facility was laid.

Since 2023, more than 40 sports facilities have been built in Kostanay Region, including 19 fitness and wellness centres, 8 sports halls, 6 indoor hockey rinks, 2 stadiums, an equestrian sports arena, and a swimming pool.

Construction has now begun on the Palace of Martial Arts, which will provide a new sporting venue for athletes, young people, and residents throughout the region.

The three-storey Palace of Martial Arts will have a total floor area of 5,600 square metres and will feature a variety of training halls. The complex will also include a competition hall for hosting national and international tournaments, as well as training camps for national teams. In addition, a specialised hall for rhythmic gymnastics will be provided.

The facility will be able to accommodate more than 100 athletes per shift, expanding opportunities for sports and training in the region.
