Republic Day and Bereke Fest nationwide promotional campaigns, held in celebration of Republic Day, are continuing across Kazakhstan. Shopping malls, shopping centres and retail chains across the country are offering special prices on food, clothing, footwear, household cleaning products, electronics and other goods. Discounts on selected items reach up to 50%.
Based on information provided by the regions, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan has analysed promotional offers and calculated how much consumers can save when purchasing different categories of goods.
Grocery Basket
In Astana, the Bereke Fest campaign offers discounts on everyday food products. For example, sunflower oil is available for KZT 889 instead of KZT 1,349, pasta (400 g) for KZT 329 instead of KZT 499, and a pack of 30 eggs for KZT 1,619 instead of KZT 2,134.
Thus, the total cost of a basket containing these three products would be KZT 3,982 without discounts, compared with KZT 2,837 during the campaign. This allows shoppers to save KZT 1,145, or approximately 29%.
Household Products
Special offers also apply to household cleaning products. In Astana’s retail chains, laundry detergent (5.5 kg) is available for KZT 5,599 instead of KZT 10,239, laundry gel (2.145 L) for KZT 7,389 instead of KZT 10,865, dishwashing liquid (900 ml) for KZT 1,679 instead of KZT 1,977, and bar soap for KZT 469 instead of KZT 669.
The total cost of these four products decreases from KZT 23,750 to KZT 15,136. As a result, shoppers can save KZT 8,614, or approximately 36%.
Seasonal Clothing
In Almaty, the Republic Day campaign features discounts on autumn clothing. Mid-season jackets are available for KZT 25,990 instead of KZT 39,990, jeans for KZT 13,990 instead of KZT 19,990, women’s jumpers for KZT 10,190 instead of KZT 16,990, hoodies for KZT 10,790 instead of KZT 17,990, and children’s tracksuits for KZT 13,740 instead of KZT 24,990.
The total cost of these five items is KZT 74,700 during the campaign, compared with KZT 119,950 at regular prices. This represents a saving of KZT 45,250, or approximately 38%.
These calculations illustrate potential savings based on prices provided by selected retail outlets. Discount levels, product ranges and the terms of special offers may vary depending on the store and region.
Promotions Cover All Regions of Kazakhstan
Special offers are also available in other regions of the country. In Shymkent, shoppers can find discounts on clothing, footwear, children’s products and household appliances. In the Atyrau Region, discounts at selected retail outlets reach up to 50%.
In the Karaganda and East Kazakhstan regions, special prices are available on construction materials, renovation supplies and home improvement products. In the Ulytau, West Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions, as well as other parts of the country, discounts apply to food and everyday consumer goods.
According to regional authorities, seasonal clothing and footwear, food products, household cleaning supplies, home goods and electronics are among the most sought-after categories.
As a reminder, the nationwide Republic Day and Bereke Fest promotional campaigns run from 17 to 27 October, inclusive.
