On Republic Day, a multifunctional stadium was officially opened at Triathlon Park in Kostanay, in line with the instructions of the Head of State. The opening ceremony was attended by Kostanay Region Akim Kumar Aksakalov. City residents, visitors, and athletes also gathered to mark the occasion.
Covering an area of 2.9 hectares, the facility is designed for football, athletics, and a range of other sports.
The stadium features two stands with a capacity of 500 seats each, 400-metre running tracks, as well as basketball and volleyball courts.
“More than 11,000 people play football in Kostanay. Until now, the city has lacked a stadium specifically designed for amateur football team training and the hosting of amateur leagues. I am confident that this new stadium will become an important sporting venue for both professional athletes and residents who lead an active lifestyle,” said Kostanay Region Akim Kumar Aksakalov in his congratulatory address.
