Seminar on “Current Issues in Tax and Customs Legislation”

On October 23, 2026, a seminar entitled “Current Issues in Tax and Customs Legislation” was held at the East Kazakhstan Regional Branch of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken” in Ust-Kamenogorsk.

The event was attended by employees of the Department of State Revenue for East Kazakhstan Region, taxpayers, participants in foreign economic activity, representatives of consulting companies, mass media representatives, and bloggers.

During the seminar, participants discussed current issues related to the application of tax and customs legislation, as well as practical aspects of cooperation between state revenue authorities, taxpayers, and participants in foreign economic activity.

Representatives of the structural divisions of the Department of State Revenue for East Kazakhstan Region delivered presentations. Participants received explanations on the practice of reviewing inquiries concerning tax legislation, the procedures for conducting customs control of goods and vehicles, and the procedures for accounting for certain goods transported within the framework of mutual trade between member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Special attention was given to the fulfilment of notifications issued as part of desk audits concerning value-added tax (VAT), ensuring the fulfilment of obligations to pay customs duties and taxes, as well as the procedures for the bankruptcy of legal entities, established practices, and current issues.

At the end of the seminar, a question-and-answer session was held, during which participants received clarifications on matters of interest and discussed practical situations arising from the application of tax and customs legislation.

Such events contribute to improving the legal awareness of taxpayers and participants in foreign economic activity, promoting open dialogue between government authorities and the business community, and fostering a common understanding of the requirements of current legislation.

In conclusion, Deputy Head of the Department of State Revenue for East Kazakhstan Region, Dinmukhamed Zhumanov, thanked the participants for their active involvement and congratulated everyone on the upcoming Republic Day of Kazakhstan.
