On October 30, 2026, the East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development «Örken», together with the D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University, held a foresight seminar titled «Engineering Education and Technologies of the Future» for methodologists of education departments and teachers of the natural sciences and mathematics field.
The event took place as part of the implementation of a long-term cooperation plan between the organizations, with the aim of giving educators an understanding of the transformation of engineering professions, the prospects for technology development, and modern approaches to preparing schoolchildren for the professions of the future using artificial intelligence.
During the seminar, participants discussed current trends in engineering education, the possibilities of applying AI in teaching, and the prospects for integrating digital technologies into the educational process.
The practical part was conducted in a team format: participants developed educational cases using artificial intelligence, presented their ideas, and defended the proposed solutions. The work was aimed at developing innovative thinking among educators, improving digital competencies, and finding new approaches to organizing learning.
Based on the results of the case defenses, teams were recognized in the following nominations: «For Creativity and an Unconventional Approach to Using AI in Education», «For Originality of Educational Solutions and Innovative Thinking», «Best Practice of the Seminar», «Engineering NEXT: Changing the Rules of the Game», «Point of Technological Growth», and «Vector of the Future».
At the conclusion of the seminar, a representative of the company «1C-Rating» spoke, presenting the capabilities of modern digital solutions and their application in professional activities.
The foresight seminar served as a platform for exchanging pedagogical experience, team-based search for innovative solutions, and strengthening cooperation between schools, higher education institutions, and the IT sector. The ideas gained and the cases developed outlined prospects for the application of artificial intelligence in education and the further development of engineering thinking among schoolchildren.
