Dauren Salimbayev

Dauren Salimbayev was born on 20 July 1981 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

He graduated from the Turar Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University in 2002 with a degree in Finance and Credit. In 2004, he obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the same university.

In 2019, he completed a Master’s degree in Business Administration at Nazarbayev University.

Dauren Salimbayev began his professional career in 2004 as a Leading Specialist in the Department for Supervision of Insurance Market Entities and Other Financial Institutions at the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market and Financial Institutions.

Between 2006 and 2011, he held several positions within the Agency, including Head of the Prudential Regulation Department and Head of the Remote Supervision and Insurance Market Development Departments.

From 2011 to 2016, he served as Head of the Prudential Supervision Methodology Department and Head of the Control and Prudential Supervision Methodology Department at the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

Between 2016 and 2018, he served as Deputy Director of the Bank Supervision Department at the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

From 2018 to 2019, he served as Head of the Department of Methodology and Regulation of Financial Institutions at the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

From 2020 to 2025, he served as Director of the Department of Methodology and Prudential Regulation of Financial Institutions at the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

By Presidential Order dated 18 September 2025, he was appointed Deputy Chairperson of the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
