Biography
Aizhan Serikbaevna Yesmagambetova was born in 1972. In 1997, she graduated from the Kazakh State Medical University with a degree in Sanitation, Hygiene, and Epidemiology. In 2005, she completed her studies at the Kazakhstan School of Public Health (Kazakhstan Medical University “KSPH”) with a degree in Public Health, and in 2008, she graduated from Almaty Management University with a degree in Healthcare Management.
She began her professional career in 1990 as a paramedic-laboratory assistant at Polyclinic No. 7 in Almaty.
Over the years, she worked as an epidemiologist at the Republican Sanitary and Epidemiological Station, a leading specialist, chief specialist, expert, and head of a department within the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
She also held the positions of Deputy Chair of the Committee for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Deputy Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Chair of the Committee for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Deputy Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Consumer Rights Protection Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Director of the Department for Epidemiological Surveillance; and Head of the Department for Epidemiological Surveillance of the Consumer Rights Protection Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
She headed the Departments of Strategic Development and Public Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the Department of Public Health Policy of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She was appointed Deputy Chair of the Committee for Quality and Safety Control of Goods and Services of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and later served as Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From July 2024 to July 2025, she served as Chair of the Board of the Republican State Enterprise on the Right of Economic Management “National Center for Public Health” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Since July 8, 2025, she has been serving as Deputy Akim of Zhambyl Region for Social Affairs.
