Large-scale projects aimed at modernizing trade infrastructure are being implemented in the city of Kyzylorda. In accordance with the Roadmap for the modernization of markets, new trading houses with a total cost of 5 billion tenge are being built at the "Sybaga", "Asbol" and "Talgat" markets. The renovated "Talgat" market will be put into operation in the near future, and modernization work on the remaining facilities will be completed by the end of the year.

Investment activity in the region's trade sector also shows positive dynamics. According to the Bureau of National Statistics, in January–June 2026, the volume of investments in fixed capital in the trade sector amounted to 21.6 billion tenge.

Information and explanatory work is being carried out among entrepreneurs on the issues of liability for unjustified price increases for socially significant food products. As a result, over the first six months, the average price index for socially significant food products was 101.3%, which is 0.6 percentage points lower than the national indicator.

Since the beginning of the year, a decrease in prices for 8 types of socially significant food products has been noted. In particular, rice, buckwheat, fish, cheese, eggs, sunflower oil, cucumbers and tomatoes have become cheaper.

In order to prevent unjustified price increases and ensure compliance with trade legislation, the Department conducts ongoing monitoring. Over six months, control measures were carried out with respect to 113 business entities, 86 of which were found to have violations.

Among the identified violations are non-compliance with the established 15 percent trade markup on socially significant food products, as well as facts of improper price labeling of goods in accordance with legal requirements.

As a result, in accordance with Article 204-4 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses, administrative fines totaling 1 million 329 thousand tenge were imposed on 44 business entities, and corresponding orders were issued.

In addition, for facts of improper price labeling of goods in accordance with legal requirements, 42 business entities were held liable under Article 193-4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The total amount of fines amounted to 544 thousand tenge.
