    Large-Scale Conference on Domestic Tourism Development and Yasawi Heritage Held in Turkistan

    A large-scale conference titled “Turkistan – 2026: Promoting the Heritage of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and Developing Domestic Tourism” was held in Turkistan.

    The event was attended by the Chairman of the Almaty Regional Maslikhat, Kuat Sultanuly Baigodzhaev.

    The important meeting brought together chairpersons of maslikhats and deputies from all regions of the country. During the discussions, participants comprehensively addressed issues related to promoting the heritage of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, preserving the historical and cultural identity of the sacred city, and bringing domestic tourism to a new level.

    As part of the conference, insightful reports were presented on the development of Turkistan’s tourism potential, modernization of modern infrastructure, renovation of historical sites, and strengthening interregional cooperation. Participants also put forward specific proposals aimed at enhancing the international status of the spiritual capital and developing national tourism.

    Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of Turkistan not only as a historical city but also as the spiritual center of the entire Turkic world. According to the speakers, promoting the heritage of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi contributes not only to strengthening national values but also to shaping the historical awareness of younger generations. In this regard, the development of cultural and spiritual tourism is considered an important factor contributing to regional economic growth and the creation of new jobs.

    Conference participants proposed a number of initiatives, including the digitalization of historical sites in the Turkistan region, expansion of tourist services, development of international tourism routes, and strengthening cultural ties between regions. It was also noted that the development of domestic tourism requires improving road infrastructure, enhancing the quality of hotel services, and regularly organizing events that promote national culture.

    Following the meeting, participants expressed their readiness to continue joint efforts to develop the tourism and spiritual potential of Turkistan, noting that the adopted proposals will give new momentum to the growth of the tourism industry in the regions of the country.
