Akim of the Almaty Region Marat Sultangaziyev’s working visit began with a visit to the private school Nomad International School in the “Asyl Arman” residential complex. The large new educational institution, built through private investment, is designed for 2,000 students but currently accommodates about 2,500 children. The state provided the land plot and infrastructure, while education is conducted in four languages.
The visit continued with a meeting with residents of the district at the House of Culture in the village of Bereke. Before the meeting, reports on the socio-economic development of the district were presented. It was noted that over nine months, industrial output amounted to 515 billion tenge, investments reached 141 billion tenge, and growth was recorded in construction, trade turnover, and tax revenues. The Karasay District was identified as strategically important, with major industrial enterprises and dozens of investment projects being implemented.
The meeting of the Akim of the region with residents was attended by deputies of the Almaty Regional Maslikhat M. Bigeldiyev, L. Turlashov, S. Adilkhanov, and Zh. Bektasov.
In his speech, Marat Sultangaziyev focused on the development of industrial zones, the growth of Alatau, modernization of the social sector, and reducing the number of schools operating in three shifts. According to him, the Karasay District ranks second in the region in terms of attracting investments.
During the open dialogue, residents raised a wide range of issues — from road conditions, electricity supply, educational facilities, and the lack of a post office to landscaping, transport, water supply, and preservation of green areas. The Akim of the region gave specific instructions to the relevant services on each issue. All proposals were included in the meeting protocol and taken under control.
Summing up the meeting, Marat Sultangaziyev noted that the Almaty Region is gradually becoming an industrial and logistics hub, while major infrastructure projects, including the BAKAD, are accelerating investment inflows. In the coming years, the region plans to increase investment volumes to 1.3 trillion tenge and create additional jobs, which is especially important for densely populated districts, including the Karasay District.
