The Education Department of East Kazakhstan Region informs about the procedure for organizing the educational process during adverse weather conditions in the 2026–2027 academic year.
To ensure the safety of students and timely informing of parents, temperature thresholds have been established at which classes in educational institutions may be moved to a remote format.
According to the established requirements, the decision to switch to distance learning is made taking into account the air temperature and wind speed.
At a wind speed of less than 2 m/s, distance learning is recommended at the following temperatures:
Grades 1–4 — minus 28 °C and below;
Grades 5–9 — minus 32 °C and below;
Grades 10–11 and 1st–2nd year college students — minus 34 °C and below.
At a wind speed of more than 2 m/s:
Grades 1–4 — minus 23 °C and below;
Grades 5–9 — minus 27 °C and below;
Grades 10–11 and 1st–2nd year college students — minus 29 °C and below.
The switch to the remote learning format is carried out on the basis of an order of the head of the educational institution or a person acting on their behalf.
Information about the transfer of classes to the remote format will be posted in a timely manner on the official websites and social media pages of the Education Department of East Kazakhstan Region and educational institutions.
Information about the switch to distance learning for the first shift will be transmitted by the responsible departments from 06:45 to 07:00, and for the second shift — from 11:00 to 11:15.
In boarding educational institutions, the decision on distance learning is made taking into account the students' place of residence. For children living directly in the boarding school, the educational process continues in person.
The Education Department of East Kazakhstan Region recommends that parents and students follow official information messages and take weather conditions into account when planning attendance at educational institutions.
