A foundation stone laying ceremony was held in Kostanay for the future Martial Arts Palace. The event was attended by the Akim of Kostanay Region, sports veterans and young athletes. During the ceremony, the regional head was briefed on the progress of the project.
The new sports complex, being constructed at the intersection of Kaiyrbekov and Textile Workers streets, will become an important addition to the city's sports infrastructure. It is the first project of its kind to be implemented in Kostanay Region.
The three-storey building will have a total area of more than 5,600 square metres. It will include two wrestling halls, a gym, rooms for athletes and coaches, as well as a multi-purpose sports hall with seating for 1,000 spectators.
The complex will provide facilities not only for martial arts but also for ballroom dancing. It will also host competitions at various levels, including international tournaments.
Developing sports infrastructure is an important investment in public health, support for young talent and the future of the city. The new complex will provide Kostanay athletes with modern training facilities, helping them improve their skills and achieve new sporting successes.
