Ahead of Republic Day, Captain Dastan Kussainov, a serviceman of the Aviation Base of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, completed his first solo flight aboard an An-74 military transport aircraft. This marks an important milestone in a military pilot’s professional training, confirming his readiness to operate an aircraft independently.
During the training flight, Captain Kussainov performed all the main stages of piloting, from takeoff to landing. His training was conducted in accordance with established flight training requirements.
A first solo flight is a significant step in a pilot’s professional development. It requires confident aircraft handling, precise execution of assigned tasks and the ability to make independent decisions that affect the safety of the crew and the aircraft.
An aircraft commander bears particular responsibility for making independent decisions, including in emergency situations, and effectively distributing duties among crew members. These skills are essential when conducting a flight without the instructor’s direct assistance.
The successful flight marked another step in Captain Dastan Kussainov’s professional development and strengthened the National Guard aviation unit’s readiness to carry out its assigned missions.
