National Guard Conscripts Learn to Operate Drones

    1 / 6

Conscripts serving in Military Unit 5574 of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Turkistan are learning to operate unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Since the beginning of this year, UAV operator training has been incorporated into the combat training program of the law and order troops, enabling conscripts to acquire modern military-applied skills and master a new specialty.

Servicemen begin their training with a basic military course. During this period, they study general military regulations, undergo drill and fire training, adapt to the daily military routine and learn to operate as part of a unit. Alongside this training, they also learn to operate drones.

In the training classroom, the Guardsmen study drone design, operating procedures, maintenance and the fundamentals of tactical application. The course includes training for a drone crew consisting of a crew commander, an FPV drone operator, a munitions specialist and a reconnaissance operator.

Training is organized in stages. First, each serviceman develops skills according to his assigned specialty, after which he proceeds to group exercises. This approach helps crew members practice coordination and prepare to carry out their assigned tasks.

Upon completing their training, the soldiers will begin patrol duty, helping maintain law and order and ensure the safety of residents and visitors to Turkistan.

Modern technologies are becoming an integral part of military affairs. It is therefore important for Guardsmen to master new equipment and methods while still completing their compulsory military service. UAV operator training helps servicemen keep pace with technological advances, broadens their professional capabilities and improves the performance of tasks related to public safety and law enforcement.
