A ceremonial event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Military Unit 5449 was held in Almaty. Today, its history continues within the “Ontustik” Regional Command of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Over six decades, the unit has undergone several stages of transformation. Its structure and name have changed, while its core principles have remained unchanged — loyalty to military duty and readiness to carry out assigned tasks.
The event was attended by servicemen of the Regional Command, veterans and invited guests.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Ansagan Baltabekov, delivered congratulatory remarks.
He highlighted the achievements of several generations of servicemen, emphasized the importance of preserving service traditions and continuity, and wished the personnel further success in carrying out their duties.
As part of the celebration, servicemen and veterans of the law and order troops were presented with certificates of commendation, badges and commemorative gifts in recognition of their service and long-standing contribution to the history of the unit.
The National Guard Song and Dance Ensemble “Ulttyq Ulan – El Aibyny” presented a concert program as a special gift for the participants.
As part of the program, the performers presented songs dedicated to the National Guard, military service and those who protect law and order.
The anniversary brought together servicemen from different generations and provided an opportunity to recall the history of the unit, pay tribute to its veterans and honor those who continue the traditions of service established by previous generations.
