More than 850 children attend a sports school in the Kurchum district of East Kazakhstan Region
During a working trip to the Kurchum district, Akim of the East Kazakhstan Region Nurymbet Saktaganov visited the district multidisciplinary children's and youth sports school and inspected the condition of the sports infrastructure.
The school has been operating since 1969. Today, more than 850 children practice ten sports here: volleyball, football, cross-country skiing, track and field, weightlifting, boxing, freestyle wrestling and Kazakh kuresi, arm wrestling, and swimming.
Twenty-nine coaches and instructors work with the young athletes, and 68 training groups have been formed.
The school manages three facilities: a sports complex built in 1980, the "Sarytau" stadium commissioned in 2013, and a modern swimming pool.
The head of the region inspected the swimming pool, which covers an area of over one thousand two hundred square meters. It is equipped with five 25-meter swimming lanes, and currently 60 children attend classes here.
"We want to create the same opportunities for rural children to engage in sports as urban children have. To achieve this, it is important not only to effectively use existing facilities but also to constantly strengthen their material and technical base," said Nurymbet Saktaganov.
Special attention in the district is paid to the development of children's and mass sports.
