Biography
Zhantikin Timur Miftakhovich was born in 1954. He graduated from the Novosibirsk State University (1976, "Physics and Applied Mathematics").
Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, thesis topic: "Mössbauer spectroscopy of radiation damage in some intermetallic and amorphous iron alloys" (1987).
Work experience:
Senior laboratory assistant, engineer, junior, senior researcher at the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan (1976-1992);
Head of the Department, Deputy Director General of the Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1992-1995);
Director General of the Atomic Energy Agency under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (10.1995-03.1999);
Chairman of the Atomic Energy Committee (Ministry of Science and Higher Education, since 10.1999 - MEIT, since 12.2000 – MEMR) of the Republic of Kazakhstan (since 03.1999);
Chairman of the Atomic Energy Committee of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan (03.2010-07.05.2012);
Chairman of the Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan (22.05.2012-12.2013);
Deputy Chairman of the Atomic Energy Committee of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan (12.2013-2014);
Deputy Chairman of the Atomic and Energy Supervision and Control Committee of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2014-2016);
General Director of Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Plants JSC (2016-25.04.2025);
Deputy Chairman of the Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan (since 25.04.2025).
