Asantayev Zhanat Asylkhanovich

Born in 1970 in the Zhambyl Region. He graduated from the Almaty branch of the Zhambyl Technological Institute of Light and Food Industry (specializing in grain storage and processing technology) and the Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University (law).

He began his career in 1987. He has been in the civil service since 2002, having worked in the Astana City Court Administration until 2007.

2007–2010 – Head of Division, Deputy Director of the Legal Department, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

2010–2014 – Deputy Mayor of Kapchagay, Almaty Region; Head of Department and Chief Inspector at the Office of the Governor of Almaty Region;

2014–2015 – Head of the Labor Inspection Department of the West Kazakhstan Region;

2015–2017 – Head of the Department for Coordination of Employment and Social Programs of the West Kazakhstan Region;

2017–2021 – Akim of the Karatobe District, West Kazakhstan Region.

He has been working in the trade and consumer protection sector since 2023. Prior to his appointment, he served as Head of the Department of Trade and Consumer Protection for the Karaganda Region and as Deputy Head of the Department of Trade and Consumer Protection for the city of Astana.
