    Biography

    Udartsev Sergey Fedorovich was born on August 28, 1951 in the Novosibirsk region, the village of Ob, RSFSR.

    He graduated from Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov with a degree in Law (1973) and postgraduate studies at KazGU (1976). Doctor of Law. Professor (1994). Honorary Professor of KSLA (2012). Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1998).

    Worked as an assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor of the Department of Theory of State and Law of the Faculty of Law of KazGU (1976-1988). Concurrently - Deputy Dean (1985-1986) and Dean of the full-time department of the Faculty of Law of KazGU (1987-1988).

    He worked as an associate professor of the Department and scientific secretary of the Alma-Ata Higher Party School, Alma-Ata Institute of Political Science and Management (1988-1991). He was seconded to the Center of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Management to complete his doctoral dissertation. He held the position of Associate Professor of the Department of National Relations and State Structure of the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Forecasting (1992).

    He held the position of judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan (07.1992-10.1995).

    Professor, Head of the Department of Theory of State and Law of the Kazakh State Law Institute (1995-1998).

    Head of the Legal Department, Legal Department, Director of the Legal Department of Kazatomprom CJSC (1998-1999), member of the Board of Directors of the Ulba Metallurgical Plant (1998-1999).

    Worked as a professor, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at the Academy of Jurisprudence of the Higher School of Economics "Adilet" (1994-2006). Member of the Board of Trustees of the Academy "Adilet" (1999-2006).

    Professor, Vice-rector for Academic and methodological work of the Kazakh Humanitarian Law University (2006-2007).

    Rector of Kazakh Humanitarian Law University, Astana (2007-2009). Advisor to the President of KazGUU (2009-2012). Director of the Research Institute of Legal Policy and Constitutional Legislation, Head of research projects on legal policy, constitutional legislation and public administration (2012-2022).

    Member of the Commission, Chairman of the Expert Council of the Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2007-2011, 2015-2022). Member of the Scientific Advisory Council under the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2018-2022), member of the Scientific Expert Council of the APK (since 2011).

    Appointed judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan (from 01.01.2023).

    Married, has one son.
