Biography
Podoprigora Roman Anatolievich was born on June 25, 1966 in Almaty. Languages spoken: Russian, English.
Graduated from S.M.Kirov Kazakh State University with a degree in Law (1990). Academic titles, degrees: Candidate of Law (1993), Doctor of Law, dissertation topic: "Administrative and legal regulation of the activities of religious associations in foreign countries" (2003) Professor (2019).
Work experience: Senior Lecturer of Al-Farabi Kazakh State University (1993-1995). Associate Professor, Head of the Department, Professor of the Academy of Jurisprudence - "Adilet" Higher School of Law (1996-2007). Professor of "Adilet" Higher School of Law of the Caspian University (since 2007). Director of the Research Institute of Public Law of the Caspian University (since 2020).
Appointed as a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan (from 01.01.2023).
Expert and other activities: Member of the Advisory Board of the ODIHR expert group/OSCE on Freedom of Religion and Belief (2000-2010), Chief Researcher at the Institute of Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2006-2009, 2013-2016), Partner, Deputy Director of the law firm "JUNIUS" (2007-2014), Preparation of expert opinions for the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2008, 2009, 2013), Member of the Scientific Advisory Council at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan (since 2008).
