Akhmetzhanov Marat Muratovich

Akhmetzhanov Marat Muratovich, born in 1964, has a higher education, graduated from Karaganda State University with a degree in jurisprudence.

He began his career in 1991 as an intern at the prosecutor's office of the city of Temirtau. In 1993-1996 - Senior Investigator for Particularly Important Cases of the Special Prosecutor's Office for Combating Corruption under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, then Head of the Department of Regional Investigators of the Department for the Investigation of Especially Dangerous Crimes of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1996-1997, he was the head of the Department for Investigation of Especially Dangerous Crimes, then the head of the Investigation Department of the Military Investigation Department of the State Investigative Committee. In 1997-1998 - Head of the Investigation Department of the Military Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1998-2001 - Deputy Director of the Department of Investigations, then Deputy Chairman of the Committee for the Execution of Court Orders of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2001-2003 - Head of the Department for Supervision of Legality in the Investigation and Inquiry Bodies of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2003-2006 - the prosecutor of Pavlodar region. In 2006-2009 - the prosecutor of the South Kazakhstan region. In 2009-2012 - Chairman of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounts of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2014-2016 - Head of the Department for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption of the Atyrau Region, then Head of the Department of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Atyrau Region.

In 2016-2021 - Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2021-2022 - Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Anti-Corruption Service).

In 2022-2023 - Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since September 2023, he has been the Akim of the Akmola region.
