Mussin Kanat

Musin Kanat Sergeevich was born on February 27, 1966 in Tselinograd, Kazakh SSR.

Graduated from Karaganda State University named after E.A. Buketov with a degree in Law. Senior Adviser of Justice. Colonel of the Financial Police.

He worked as a bailiff, secretary of the court session, archivist of the People's Court of the Leninsky district of Tselinograd (1984-1986).

He held the positions of investigator, head of the department, deputy prosecutor of Astana, Akmola region (1989-1998).

He was the deputy prosecutor of the North Kazakhstan region, the first deputy prosecutor of the Zhambyl region (1998-2001).

He held the post of Deputy Head of the Department for Combating Economic and Corruption Crimes in the West Kazakhstan region, Almaty (2001-2007).

Worked as Chief expert, Chief Inspector, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Security Council (2007-2010).

He was the First Deputy Prosecutor of the North Kazakhstan region (2010-2012).

Head of the Department of Justice of Astana city (2012-2016).

Judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2021-2022).

Chairman of the Judicial Board for Administrative Cases of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan (14.06.2021-01.2022).

Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan (from 01.2022-12.2022).

He was Chairman of the Legal Council of Nur Otan Party (10.2020-06.2021), Chairman of the Human Rights Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (03.2021-08.2021).

He held elected positions as a candidate for deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan from Nur Otan Party (2016), deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the VI convocation from Nur Otan Party, Member of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial Reform of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2016), Chairman of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial Reform of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic Kazakhstan (09.2020-12.2020), candidate for deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the Public Association "Nur Otan Party" (04.12.2020), deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the seventh convocation (from 14.01.2021), Chairman of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial and Legal Reform of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan (01.2021-06.2021)

He was conferred «Kurmet» award, the medals "Eren enbegi ushin", "Kazakhstan Republikasyn tauelsizdigine 20 zhyl", "Astananyn 10 zhyldygy". He has departmental awards of the DSECC, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Appointed as a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan (from 01.01.2023).

Married, has three children.
