Amman, August 24, 2026 – Political consultations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan were held in Amman. The consultations focused on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, as well as key issues on the international and regional agenda.
The Kazakh delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Issagaliyev. The Jordanian side was represented by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Daifallah Ali Al-Fayez.
At the outset of the meeting, the Jordanian side congratulated Kazakhstan on the successful conduct of the first elections to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noting their importance for the country’s further political development.
The sides noted the positive momentum in Kazakhstan-Jordan relations and discussed practical steps to further strengthen political dialogue and expand bilateral cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to developing trade, economic and investment ties, cooperation in agriculture, transport, tourism and air connectivity, as well as consular cooperation and the further development of the bilateral legal framework.
The sides also exchanged views on cooperation within the UN, OIC, CICA, IOFS and other international organizations. They also discussed key issues on the international and regional agenda, including the situation in the Middle East.
In the context of global efforts to strengthen international humanitarian law, the sides discussed preparations for the High-Level “Humanity in War” Conference, which will be held in Jordan on December 7, 2026. Kazakhstan and Jordan, along with other countries, are co-founders of the Global Initiative to Galvanize Political Commitment to International Humanitarian Law.
As part of the visit, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan also held talks with a representative of the Royal Court. The sides reviewed the outcomes of the reciprocal visits by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Amman and King Abdullah II of Jordan to Astana in 2025. They discussed the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, as well as prospects for further contacts between the leaders of the two countries.
Following the meetings, the sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening Kazakhstan-Jordan political dialogue and giving bilateral cooperation a more practical and substantive character.
