Good Deeds Gain Momentum in the Almaty Region as Part of the Nationwide Environmental Initiative “Taza Kazakhstan”
In the Almaty Region, positive environmental initiatives are gaining momentum as part of the nationwide campaign “Taza Kazakhstan.” The initiative, proposed by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, is aimed at raising environmental awareness and developing ecological culture to a new level across the country.
As part of this initiative, a large-scale tree planting campaign was held across the region on April 25, receiving strong public support.
The large-scale event was attended by Akim of the Almaty Region Marat Sultangaziyev, Chairman of the Regional Maslikhat Kuat Baigodzhayev, deputies, labor veterans, representatives of political parties and public organizations, as well as active young people. This demonstrated the unity of all segments of society around a common goal — protecting nature.
During the event, a teleconference was held with the participation of the Head of State. In his address, the President emphasized that the foundation of cleanliness begins with education and highlighted the importance of developing environmental culture from an early age. In this regard, he instructed the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan to introduce the “Green Lessons” project. He also stressed the need to transform the idea of “Taza Kazakhstan” into a nationwide value and highlighted the important role of mass media and social networks in promoting qualities such as diligence, cleanliness, and responsibility.
The main event took place in Berdibek Sokpakbayev Central Park in the city of Konaev. Deputies also actively participated in environmental campaigns organized in their respective regions.
Overall, the initiatives carried out in the region are aimed at improving the environmental situation, expanding green areas, and increasing public responsibility toward nature. In accordance with the greening plan for 2026–2030, approximately 220,000 tree seedlings are planned to be planted annually across the region.
