
President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Participated in a Ceremony Dedicated to the Adoption of the Constitution
President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in a ceremonial gathering dedicated to the adoption of the Constitution, held at the Akorda Presidential Residence. The event was attended by senior officials, representatives of state bodies, and public figures. Chairman of the Almaty Regional Maslikhat Kuat Baigodzhayev was also among the participants.
During the ceremony, the Honor Guard presented the new Constitution, followed by the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Chairman of the Central Election Commission Nurlan Abdirov announced the results of the nationwide referendum held on March 15, 2026.
In his speech, the Head of State noted that the new Constitution is a “symbol of the unity of the people” and a document of strategic importance. According to him, the Basic Law is aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan’s independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.
During the event, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the Decree “On Measures to Implement the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan Adopted on March 15, 2026.”
According to the President, the new Constitution will officially enter into force on July 1, 2026. In addition, March 15 has been declared the Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which will be celebrated annually at the national level.
