Members of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited agricultural and industrial facilities in the Enbekshikazakh and Talgar districts
Senators of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhanbolat Zhorgenbayev and Zakirzhan Kuziyev, as well as Mazhilis deputy Zhanarbek Ashimzhan, arrived in the Enbekshikazakh district on a working visit. As part of their review of the region’s socio-economic development, the deputies visited the “Aidarbayev” peasant farm in the village of Saymasai. The visit was also attended by Chairman of the Almaty Regional Maslikhat K. Baigodzhayev, regional maslikhat deputies, and district Akim T. Bayedilov.
The agro-industrial sector is one of the key foundations of the region’s economy. The “Aidarbayev” peasant farm is successfully developing livestock breeding, crop production, horticulture, and fish farming. Currently, the farm is implementing a project for the production of granulated feed for livestock and fish. Construction of the facility, worth 500 million tenge, with a production capacity of up to 3,500 tons per hour, has been completed, and the necessary documentation procedures are underway.
The project is aimed not only at economic development but also at ensuring food security. During the meeting, issues related to dependence on imported feed, product quality, and the development of domestic production were discussed. Senator Zakirzhan Kuziyev proposed involving scientists and conducting laboratory-based research to increase confidence in locally produced feed.
The work of the fish farming sector was also highly appreciated. The importance of effectively utilizing the opportunities provided by the new Law “On Aquaculture” was emphasized. Following the visit, deputies and representatives of agricultural enterprises held a round table to discuss state support measures, expansion of production, infrastructure development, and social issues.
After the Enbekshikazakh district, the deputies visited the Talgar district, where they toured one of the leading agro-industrial enterprises in the region — the “Baymene” company.
According to the company’s director, Yevgeny Kambarov, the enterprise has established a full production cycle — from apple cultivation to processing and long-term storage. The orchards were planted in 2017, and today more than 254,000 elite apple seedlings imported from Italy and the Netherlands have been planted on an area exceeding 100 hectares. The total investment amounted to 6.1 billion tenge, and about 100 people are employed on a permanent basis.
The enterprise operates apple sorting and packaging lines, a workshop for producing natural juices and purees, as well as a modern fruit storage facility with a capacity of 5,100 tons. Thanks to the installed equipment, the yield of pure juice reaches 65–70% per 1 kg of apples, while the double pasteurization technology helps preserve the natural properties of the products. The products are sold in Almaty and major retail chains under the Alem Alma brand. Future plans include the production of cider, jams, vinegar, and carbonated beverages, as well as expanding orchard areas by another 40 hectares.
The guests were presented with 9 apple varieties and shown a high-tech storage facility consisting of 27 chambers. All products are certified in accordance with international quality standards.
During the visit, the deputies also inspected a modern vegetable storage facility with a capacity of 5,000 tons built by Fresh Storage Center. The company’s director, Maxim Prudnikov, noted that the facility is equipped with advanced cooling, ventilation, and microclimate control systems. The convenient location of the storage facility along major transport routes ensures efficient logistics.
The vegetable storage facility allows year-round storage of potatoes, onions, garlic, cabbage, and carrots. Product losses during storage amount to only 1–3%, which helps maintain quality and stabilize prices.
Summarizing the results of the visit, the elected representatives noted that the region has effectively established a system for the storage and transportation of agricultural products. Zhanbolat Zhorgenbayev emphasized that the tasks set by the President of the country to ensure food security are being fully implemented at the district level.
