Kazakhstan Presents Transport and Infrastructure Projects at Paris Infra Week 2026

Paris, 3 November 2026 – A Kazakh delegation comprising representatives of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in France, the Ministry of National Economy, Baiterek National Investment Holding JSC and the Kazakhstan Public-Private Partnership Center took part in the tenth edition of Paris Infra Week, the international infrastructure forum, as well as in a special session on the transport, logistics and investment potential of Central Asia.

Delivering the welcoming remarks, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to France, Gulsara Arystankulova, underlined the priority attached to developing the country’s transport and transit potential, as set out by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his State of the Nation Address of 28 October 2026. She noted that Kazakhstan’s strategic objective is to become one of Eurasia’s leading logistics hubs – one that not only ensures transit between Asia and Europe, but also creates new opportunities for investment, industrial development and localised production.

In this context, the Ambassador highlighted the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and its alignment with the EU’s Global Gateway initiative, stressing Kazakhstan’s interest in expanding cooperation with European partners and attracting capital, including through public-private partnership (PPP) mechanisms.

Aidos Kobetov, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhstan PPP Center JSC, presented Kazakhstan’s pipeline of transport and infrastructure projects delivered through PPP mechanisms.

He outlined in detail the investor protection instruments available in Kazakhstan, including access to international arbitration, currency risk compensation mechanisms and state co-financing. It was noted that the effectiveness of public-private partnerships has already been demonstrated by the successful delivery of a number of infrastructure projects. Concluding his presentation, Mr Kobetov invited French companies and international investors to cooperate with Kazakhstan and take part in promising projects in the country.

On the sidelines of the forum, the Kazakh delegation also held a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of French government bodies, financial institutions and the business community. The discussions focused on prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation, opportunities to attract investment, and ways to draw on the expertise of French partners in implementing infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan.

The special session on Central Asia was organised by the French agency Expertise France together with the international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer under the European Union’s Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TCTC) Capacity Development Programme.

Paris Infra Week is one of the leading international platforms for discussing infrastructure investment, transport connectivity and the mobilisation of private capital. The forum is being held for the tenth time this year, from 2 to 6 November.
