On October 30, 2026, a roundtable discussion with participants in foreign economic activity was held at the Customs Post “Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Astana – New City” of the State Revenue Department of Astana. The discussion focused on the completion of the SEZ's operations.
During the roundtable, key issues related to the completion of the Special Economic Zone's operations were discussed, including the procedure for terminating the SEZ's activities, fulfilment of obligations by its participants, customs and tax administration matters, as well as further cooperation between authorized government agencies and interested parties.
Following the roundtable, participants agreed on the need for coordinated cooperation between the relevant government agencies and SEZ participants, timely fulfilment of obligations stipulated by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and continued awareness-raising efforts on customs and tax administration matters. Issues arising during the transition period will be addressed through established working procedures within the competence of the relevant government agencies.
