Otandastar Qory is holding the OQ Startup creative competition to support promising projects developed by young Kazakh compatriots and ethnic Kazakhs living abroad. Young people aged between 15 and 30 are invited to submit their initiatives in science, culture, IT, business, media, volunteering and other creative and social fields.
The competition supports initiatives in science, culture, information technology, business, media, volunteering and other creative and social fields. It aims to promote original projects developed by young Kazakhs abroad, facilitate networking among participants and support their creative potential.
Ethnic Kazakhs aged between 15 and 30 who are citizens of foreign countries are eligible to participate. Projects that have already been launched, are currently being implemented or are planned for future implementation may be submitted.
Applicants are required to provide:
a horizontally recorded video of no more than two minutes in MP4 or MOV format, or a presentation of no more than 10 slides in PPTX or PDF format;
a brief project description in PDF format outlining the project title, relevance, objective, key tasks, target audience, implementation mechanism and timeline, expected outcomes and required resources.
If funding is required, applicants should indicate the requested amount and provide a detailed budget.
Submissions are accepted in Kazakh, Russian or English. Applications should also include the participant’s full name, citizenship, age, university and year of study.

The winners will receive the following prizes:
First place – a laptop and diploma;
Second place – a tablet and diploma;
Third place – a smartwatch and diploma;
Special Recognition Prize – a Bestemshe traditional board game and an award.
The judging panel will select the winners within 30 days after the application period closes.
The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Thailand encourages young Kazakh compatriots residing in Thailand to take part in the competition and present their innovative ideas and projects.
