“OQ Startup” Competition Invites Project Submissions from Young Kazakhs Living Abroad
Otandastar Qory announces the “OQ Startup” Creative Competition for outstanding projects developed by young ethnic Kazakhs residing outside Kazakhstan.
The competition aims to support initiatives in science, culture, information technology, business, media, volunteering, and other creative and social fields. It seeks to facilitate the development and promotion of participants’ projects in Kazakhstan, encourage professional and creative collaboration among young people, and strengthen their ties with their historical homeland.
The competition is open to Kazakhs aged 15–30 who are citizens of foreign countries.
Eligible submissions include projects that are already being implemented, as well as initiatives planned for future implementation. Projects may cover a wide range of fields, including science, culture, IT, business, media, volunteering, and other creative and social activities.
Applicants are required to submit a project presentation and a brief project description. The presentation must be provided either as a horizontally recorded video in MP4 or MOV format, not exceeding two minutes, or as a PPTX or PDF presentation consisting of no more than 10 slides.
The project description must outline the project’s relevance, objectives, key tasks, target audience, implementation mechanism and timeline, expected outcomes, and required resources. Where funding is required, applicants must specify the requested amount and provide a detailed budget. For ongoing projects, information on current results, achievements, and plans for further development should also be included.

Submissions are accepted in Kazakh, Russian, or English. By submitting their applications, participants consent to the publication of their work on the official website and social media platforms of Otandastar Qory, including Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram.
The following awards will be presented to the winners:
- First place: Laptop and diploma.
- Second place: Tablet and diploma.
- Third place: Smartwatch and diploma.
- Special Recognition Award: Traditional Bestemshe board game and certificate of recognition.
The winners will be selected by the judging panel within 30 days after the application period closes.
The “OQ Startup” Competition represents an opportunity to encourage the creative and entrepreneurial potential of young Kazakhs living abroad, support the development of their initiatives, and strengthen their professional, cultural, and community ties with Kazakhstan.
