Seoul, October 20, 2026 – Asset Issenali, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Korea held a meeting with Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of Kia Corporation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation and future prospects of Kazakhstan -Korea cooperation in the automotive industry, the expansion of investment ties, and the strengthening of industrial cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to the further development of Kia’s manufacturing operations in Kazakhstan, increasing local content, introducing advanced technologies, and expanding the participation of Kazakhstani enterprises in automotive supply chains.
The Ambassador highlighted Kia Corporation’s significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s automotive industry and reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s strong interest in further strengthening its long-term partnership with the company.
The parties also exchanged views on opportunities for implementing new joint initiatives, enhancing technological cooperation, and leveraging Kazakhstan’s potential as a promising manufacturing and investment hub in Central Asia.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and maintain close working contacts with a view to further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
