
Turkmenbashi, October 7, 2026– Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister
Mukhtar Tileuberditook part in a regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
During the meeting, participants exchanged views on pressing issues on the international agenda and the further development of multilateral cooperation within the CIS.
MinisterTileuberdioutlined Kazakhstan’s approaches to cooperation within the organization and put forward several proposals aimed at further developing the Commonwealth’s potential.
The Council’s work focused primarily on preparations for the upcoming CIS Summit, which will bring together the leaders of the Commonwealth’s member states in Turkmenistan on October 9. In particular, the ministers approved statements by the heads of state marking the 35th anniversary of the CIS and addressing the preservation of historical memory.
They also approved draft documents aimed at strengthening cooperation in security, economic, cultural and humanitarian affairs, as well as transport, science, space and information andcommunication technologies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their interest in further strengthening cooperation within the Commonwealth and called for the practical implementation of the agreements reached and greater effectiveness of multilateral cooperation mechanisms.
