More than 40 convicts have received secondary education certificates in the secondary security institution of the penitentiary in the Abai region.
A solemn ceremony of awarding certificates to convicts who have successfully completed their studies in the current academic year was held at the KSU "Secondary School No. 2 at the institution of the penal correction system" of the Department of Education of the city of Semey of the Department of Education of the Abai region.
During the event, 40 convicts who had mastered the educational program in full were awarded state-issued certificates. Representatives of the institution's administration and teaching staff congratulated the graduates on their successful graduation, wishing them further success, self-confidence and the realization of their knowledge in the future.
- I am 36 years old. I spent my childhood practically on the street. At the age of 14, I dropped out of school and spent all my time in the company of friends. Later, he started working part-time and believed that education could be dispensed with. I postponed my studies for later every time. Once I found myself here and learned that even in places of detention it is possible to get an education, I decided to definitely take advantage of this opportunity. After my release, I plan to get a profession, get a job and earn only honest work," the convict shared.
He noted that education plays an important role in the process of correcting and preparing convicts for life after release.
- Education helps convicts not only fill in knowledge gaps, but also to review life values, gain self-confidence and determine further goals. Each certificate received is another step towards successful re—socialization, employment and a law—abiding life after release," said Maksat Serikkhanov, head of the Department for educational work among convicts.
The graduates expressed their sincere gratitude to the teachers for their hard work, support and contribution to gaining knowledge. According to the convicts, education opens up new opportunities for personal growth, professional development and building a decent future.
