A 51-year-old resident of Semey, who failed to repay a debt to his friend on time, sent a voice message with insults to the creditor during another conversation about the debt.
The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to 20 hours of community service.
After the verdict came into force, the convict was registered with the Semey Probation service. He admitted his guilt and expressed regret for the incident.
To serve his sentence, the man was sent to one of the municipal enterprises of the city, where he performs landscaping work.
- Community service allows convicts to realize the consequences of their actions, maintain social ties and employment. The main purpose of probation is to help a person embark on the path of law—abiding behavior and prevent repeated offenses," said Yerzhan Espolatov, head of the Probation Department of the Central District.
