The Astana City Administration, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Changi Airports International (CAI), a subsidiary of Changi Airport Group, have signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement to establish a strategic partnership for the long-term development of the capital’s airport infrastructure.
The agreement formalises cooperation in two key areas:
- Management of Astana’s New Airport
The parties agreed to cooperate on the operation of a new airport in Astana. The project is being implemented in line with the directive of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to establish an international aviation hub and expand Astana’s transit potential.
- Development of the Existing Astana International Airport
The parties agreed to cooperate with Changi Airports International on the development of the existing Astana International Airport, including the company’s involvement in management, operations and maintenance (O&M), and other areas of the airport’s future development.
The parties are currently working together to agree on the partnership structure and project implementation terms, and to prepare the necessary documentation.
