A technical press tour took place at the Akashi Data Center construction site in Astana, attended by Sultan Dostanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Astana Invest.
During the visit, participants were briefed on construction progress, the facility’s power and engineering infrastructure, and plans for the next stages of the project.
Akashi Data Center is a major investment project with a total investment of approximately US$354 million. The project предусматриes the construction of four data centres, accommodating around 4,000 server racks and bringing the campus’s design capacity to 100 MW. The first phase is scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2027.
In his remarks, Sultan Dostanov emphasised the project’s strategic importance, highlighting its role in developing the capital’s digital infrastructure, attracting international technology companies and creating highly skilled jobs.
The Akashi Data Center project will help enhance Astana’s appeal to investors and strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a regional technology hub.
