Akmola Region Delegation Studies China's Smart City Experience and Signs Memorandums of Cooperation
Representatives of the Department of Digitalization and Archives of the Akmola Region made a working trip to the People's Republic of China, visiting the cities of Hangzhou, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen. The purpose of the trip was to study advanced solutions in the field of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the concept of smart cities. In Hangzhou, the delegation familiarized itself with infrastructure IT solutions and big data. Following negotiations with Zhejiang Communications Investment Group (CICO), a memorandum of cooperation was signed for the implementation of joint projects. In Hong Kong, the region's representatives participated in the international Belt and Road Summit.
The program in Shenzhen included meetings with leading technology manufacturers in the field of unmanned systems, urban analytics, and robotics (Aerofugia, AutoFlight, EHang, GDU Technology, Pudu Robotics, and others). Of particular interest were vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) technologies, considered for logistics tasks and transport links in the region.
As a result of the visit, a number of memorandums were concluded on launching pilot projects in the Akmola Region. They cover the areas of unmanned monitoring, digital twins, intelligent transport systems, and the development of the Smart Region concept.
