NEW REQUIREMENTS
FOR GAS METERING DEVICES
WHAT WILL CHANGE FROM AUGUST 24, 2026?
Starting August 24, 2026, legislative amendments will come into force. According to these amendments, commercial gas metering devices must provide remote data transmission and comply with the established requirements.
FOR NEW CONSUMERS WHO RECEIVE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AFTER AUGUST 24, 2026
All new consumers who receive technical specifications after August 24, 2026 must purchase, at their own expense, smart gas meters with a remote data transmission function from the market.
Important:Replacement of metering devices at the expense of the gas distribution organization is provided only for existing residential consumers who were connected to the gas networks before the new requirements came into force.
FOR EXISTING INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL-RESIDENTIAL CONSUMERS
All existing industrial and commercial-residential consumers must ensure remote transmission of data from their gas metering devices by December 31, 2027.
WHY IS A SMART METER NEEDED?
A metering device with a remote data transmission function allows information about gas consumption to be transmitted automatically, without the need to regularly submit meter readings manually.
