The Government, represented by the Ministry of Finance, is carrying out work to support entrepreneurs and improve the quality of accounting and tax reporting.
In this regard, the nationwide “People’s Accountant” campaign has been implemented since January 5, 2026. The initiative is being carried out by the Ministry of Finance jointly with professional accounting organizations and is aimed at providing practical assistance to taxpayers.
Consultations are held in the format of free in-person appointments at the premises of state revenue departments in regional centers, as well as in the cities of Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent. The campaign will run until June 30, 2026.
In January and February, consultations are organized three times a week — on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Starting from March 2026, consultations will be held twice a week. The schedule and addresses of consultation centers are available on the official websites and social media accounts of the State Revenue Committee, as well as regional and local state revenue departments. Consultation locations are marked with “People’s Accountant” signs.
Employees of state revenue authorities, as well as more than 120 accredited professional accountants, have been engaged to participate in the campaign.
Since the launch of the campaign, 17,500 taxpayers have received consultations, and more than 160 interviews have been conducted.
The live dialogue format has proven its effectiveness: taxpayers receive practical guidance on accounting issues, tax reporting, and working with information systems.
As part of the campaign, taxpayers are provided consultations on a range of topics, including:
choosing the optimal tax regime and transition period issues;
tax benefits and deductions under special tax regimes;
issuance of electronic invoices;
VAT threshold, VAT registration and deregistration under special and general tax regimes;
permitted types of activities for self-employed individuals;
procedures for fulfilling tax obligations;
and many other issues.
The “People’s Accountant” campaign is ongoing and represents comprehensive work aimed at creating a clear, accessible, and client-oriented tax environment. Entrepreneurs and citizens are invited to take advantage of the opportunity to receive free professional consultations and improve their tax literacy.
