On September 8, 2025, the 11th meeting of customs administration heads was held in Turkestan. As part of this event, a bilateral meeting was held between the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Chairman of the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mavlonov Akmalkhoja
During the talks, the parties discussed topical issues of cooperation in the customs sphere, the implementation of agreements, as well as further steps to deepen the partnership.
Following the meeting, an agreement on cooperation between the customs laboratories of the two agencies was signed. The document aims to strengthen practical cooperation, develop expert capacity, and improve the efficiency of customs administration.
The parties also discussed issues related to the reconstruction and modernization of checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan border, as well as measures to simplify border crossing procedures and digitize customs administration.
In addition, issues related to ensuring the equal exchange of foreign permit forms and the implementation of the “Seamless Transit” pilot project were addressed.
The signing of the agreement and the agreements reached confirmed the high level of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the customs sphere, as well as their mutual interest in further strengthening their strategic partnership.
