Altai district covers an area of 1,056,096 ha, which is 3.7% of the area of the region. On the territory of the Altai district there are two cities: Altai and Serebryansk; 4 villages: Coastal, Zubovsk, Novaya Bukhtarma; 9 rural districts: Maleevsky, Severny, Sredigorny, Chapaevsky, Paryginsky, Nikolsky, solovyevsky, polyanskoe, Turgusunsky. The district center, the city of Altai, is located 175 kilometers from the regional center – the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk.

Salary for the 1st half of 2026 in the Altai region
For the first half of 2026, the average monthly nominal salary per employee (excluding small businesses engaged in entrepreneurial activity) in the Altai region amounted to 421.1 thousand tenge and increased by 8.8% in real terms compared to the first half of 2025, a decrease of 2.0%. In the industry structure, the highest wages are for construction workers - 723.1 thousand tenge, which is 71.7% higher than the average seasonal level, industry - 548.3 thousand tenge, transport and warehousing - 442.5 thousand tenge. The lowest wages are for employees providing other types of services - 106.2 thousand tenge, which is lower than the average seasonal level by 74.8%. Agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 180.4 thousand tenge (by 57.2%), arts, entertainment and recreation - 208.0 thousand tenge (by 50.6%), activities in the field of administrative and sup- port services - 212.3 thousand tenge (by 49.6%) provision of accommodation and catering services - 234 4 thousand tenge (by 44.4%). Migration processes in the Altay region
As a result of the migration exchange, according to data for January-July 2026, 1380 people left the district and 1094 people arrived in the district. Compared to January-July 2025, the number of arrivals in the Altai regionincreased by 1.6%, and the number of departures decreasedby 5%. 223 people arrived from other regions of the republic against 207 people in the same period last year. The largest outflow from the district was to other districts of the region (1095 people, or 79.3% of the total). In January-July 2025, 1113 people, or 76.6%, respectively, left. 40 people left for neighboring countries (2.9% of the total departures), for the corresponding period, 67 people, or 4.6%, respectively. Accounting for sown areas for the harvest of 2026
This year, compared to the previous year, the sown area for agricultural crops increased by 1014.4 hectares (by 1.3%) across all categories of farms and amounted to 78048.9 hectares. The area under grain and leguminous crops increased significantly by 1598.0 hectares, or 5.4% (barley — by 2439.5 hectares; corn (maize) — by 1445.1 hectares; oats — by 309.6 hectares; lentils — by 246.0 hectares). A reduction in the sown area of oilseed crops was noted — by 399.1 ha, or 1%, and of forage crops — by 217.1 ha, or 4.5%. In the crop structure, the share of oilseed crops amounted to 52.0%, cereals — 40.2%, forage crops — 5.9%, and potatoes and vegetable‑melon crops — 1.9%. In agricultural enterprises, the area increased by 1294.7 ha. In peasant or farm households, a reduction in sown areas by 310.9 hectares was recorded; in household plots, sown areas increased by 30.6 hectares. The share of these categories of households in the total sown area amounted to 81.4%, 16.8%, and 1.8%, respectively. Performer: Myannikova T.N.
