    About the Permanent Mission

Welcome to the official website of the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and other international organizations in Paris!

The Republic of Kazakhstan became a member of UNESCO in May 1992.

The Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan to UNESCO was established in June 1992. Most of the time, with the exception of the period from October 2001 to January 2014, it functioned as part of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the French Republic.

In August 2023, the Permanent Delegation was re-established as an independent diplomatic mission. At the same time, its tasks were supplemented by issues of interaction with all intergovernmental organizations headquartered in Paris, including Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, International Transport Forum, International Energy Agency, International Bureau of Exhibitions, World Organization for Animal Health and others.

The work of the Permanent Delegation is aimed at contributing to the achievement of the goals of Kazakhstan's foreign policy strategy to maintain friendly, predictable and mutually beneficial relations with foreign states in a multilateral format, and the development of integrated interaction with interstate associations and international organizations.
