Biography
Born in 1970 in the Saryagash District of South Kazakhstan Region, Republic of Kazakhstan.
Education:
- 1993 – Graduated with honors from the Kazakh Chemical-Technological Institute, earning a degree in Civil Engineering Technology (Engineer-Technologist).
- 1998 – Graduated from the National Higher School of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, specializing in Public Administration.
- 2012 – Graduated from East Kazakhstan State University with a degree in Law.
- 2023 – Graduated with honors from the Master's program at the All-Russian State University of Justice.
Honors and Awards:
Throughout his career, he has been awarded the Order of Kurmet (Құрмет), anniversary medals of the Republic of Kazakhstan, medals and honorary badges from various ministries and government agencies, a Letter of Appreciation and a Certificate of Honor from the Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs, as well as Certificates of Honor from the Akims of South Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, and East Kazakhstan Regions.

Professional Experience
Galym Sultanovich Tursunbayev began his career in 1986 as a worker at the 21st Party Congress State Farm in Shymkent. From 1988 to 1989, he completed his compulsory military service in the Soviet Army.
In 1987, he enrolled at the Kazakh Chemical-Technological Institute, graduating with honors in 1993 with a degree in Civil Engineering Technology (Engineer-Technologist). Following graduation, he joined the private enterprise Symbat.
From 1993 to 1994, he served as a Specialist and later Chief Specialist at the Department of Youth, Sports and Tourism of Al-Farabi District, Shymkent. From 1994 to 1995, he worked as a Site Supervisor at the Gypsolit Construction Cooperative.
Between 1995 and 1997, he served as Chief Specialist at the Department of Youth, Sports and Tourism of South Kazakhstan Region.
In 1997, he entered the National Higher School of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. After graduating in 1998, he held a number of senior public service positions between 1998 and 2000, including:
- Chief Specialist at the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Head of Division at the Department of Strategic Planning of South Kazakhstan Region;
- Head of Division at the Regional Department of the Civil Service;
- Head of the Monitoring and Civil Service Unit of the Shymkent City Akimat Office.
From 2000 to 2005, he served as Deputy Head of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs for South Kazakhstan Region.
From 2005 to 2023, he worked within the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs, serving as Head of Department and Chairman of the Disciplinary Council in the Kyzylorda, East Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, North Kazakhstan, Turkestan, and West Kazakhstan regions. During this period, he also held the positions of:
- Chief of Staff of the Akim of East Kazakhstan Region;
- First Deputy Chairman of the East Kazakhstan Regional Branch of the Nur Otan People's Democratic Party.
From 2023 to 2025, he served as Director of the Kyzylorda Production Branch of QazaqGaz Onimdery.
From 2025 to 2026, he held the position of Head of the Southern Region at Kazakhstan Housing Company JSC.
In March 2026, he was appointed Head of the Department of the Committee for Regulation and Control in the Field of Social Protection of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Aktobe Region.
