Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov held a meeting with First Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States Igor Petrishenko.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the organisation of the activities of the CIS Observer Mission for the upcoming elections to the Kurultai. The sides reviewed preparations for the Mission’s work, matters related to cooperation with the relevant state authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as practical aspects of the activities of international observers during the election campaign.
The Kazakh side reaffirmed its readiness to provide the CIS Mission with the necessary conditions to effectively carry out its functions in accordance with the national legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and universally recognised principles of international election observation.
The sides also exchanged views on current issues of cooperation within the CIS, including preparations for the upcoming meetings of the statutory bodies of the Commonwealth.
