Meetings were held in Kabul between the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Afghanistan, Erkin Tukumov, with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, Mohammad Naim, and representatives of the Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AWCCI).
During the meeting with M. Naim, the parties exchanged views on the outcomes of the Kazakhstani delegation's visit to Herat, noting the warm welcome and the constructive nature of the negotiations held. E. Tukumov emphasized that the visit to Herat was a continuation of the agreements reached during the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Serik Zhumangarin, to Afghanistan on June 20-21 of this year.
The Kazakhstani side noted an interest in further developing cooperation with Afghanistan in partnership with Central Asian states for the construction of transit corridors, as well as trade with South Asian countries.
The Afghan side expressed gratitude for the speech of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, M. Tileuberdi, during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, for supporting the phased international engagement with Afghanistan with a central role for the international platform. Alongside this, they noted an interest in participating in the activities of the UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in Almaty. The prospects for direct air connectivity between the two countries were also discussed separately.
As part of the visit, a meeting was also held with representatives of the Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Participants discussed opportunities to expand business contacts between women entrepreneurs of the two countries, as well as cooperation in the fields of education, professional development, medicine, and social projects.
Representatives of the Chamber expressed interest in establishing closer contacts with the Kazakhstani business community. E. Tukumov invited representatives of the Chamber to visit Kazakhstan to develop direct business ties and work out joint initiatives.
Following the meetings, the parties confirmed their interest in continuing direct dialogue and the practical implementation of joint initiatives, including through the involvement of regional and multilateral cooperation formats.
