With the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Georgia, AIFC Connect: Tbilisi 2026 took place as part of the Tbilisi Finance Summit 2026, focusing on expanding financial and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Organised by the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), the National Bank of Georgia, GFTN and ITS, the event brought together representatives of regulators, banks, stock exchanges and investment companies.
Speaking at the opening, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Georgia Talgat Aduov emphasised that relations between the two countries are founded on friendship, mutual trust and respect. He noted that their strategic partnership provides a strong foundation for strengthening economic ties, expanding cross-border investment and implementing joint projects.
During the event, participants learned about the AIFC’s opportunities for doing business and raising capital. Discussions covered cooperation between financial institutions, capital market development and infrastructure financing, including projects related to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
Particular attention was given to the Mutual Access and Recognition project, which aims to develop mechanisms for reciprocal access for participants in the financial markets of the AIFC and Georgia. This work builds on the memorandum signed in September 2026 between the Astana Financial Services Authority and the National Bank of Georgia.
During the panel discussion and business meetings, representatives of Kazakh and Georgian companies explored investment opportunities and prospects for joint initiatives. The event helped establish direct contacts between the financial and business communities of the two countries.
