Mandatory digital labeling of beer and beer drinks: step-by-step deadlines and business requirements

The Department of State Revenue for the Pavlodar region informs that starting from February 1, 2026, mandatory digital labeling of beer and beer drinks using Data Matrix codes has been introduced in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The following stages of labeling have been approved (for products manufactured from these dates):
- from February 1, 2026, mandatory labeling of beer and beer drinks produced in kegs;
- from September 1, 2026 – mandatory labeling of beer and beer drinks in bottles;
- from January 1, 2027, mandatory labeling of beer and beer drinks in cans, as well as the launch of full product traceability by issuing and confirming documents for the transfer of goods in the system.
Unmarked remnants of beer and beer drinks produced before the date of introduction of mandatory labeling are allowed to be sold to participants in the turnover of goods within 1 (one) calendar year.
In this regard, all retail sellers of beer products (shops, canteens, bars, restaurants) must register in advance in the information system for labeling and traceability of goods (IS MPT) on the website https://tanba.markirovka.kz /.
Starting from January 1, 2027, the following mandatory requirements will be imposed on participants in the retail turnover of beer and beer drinks:
1. The availability of mandatory registration in the information system of labeling and traceability of goods (IS MPT);
2. Using a cash register machine with the function of recording and transmitting data, configured to work with labeling;
3. The availability of a scanner for reading identification tools when selling each unit of goods (an alternative is a mobile cash register that works with labeling).
In order to avoid stopping sales and applying penalties, the Department of State Revenue for the Pavlodar region recommends that you register with the IP MPT in advance and take preparatory measures to confirm the documents for the transfer of beer and beer drinks in the system.
