Ahead of Republic Day, the Department of the Criminally-Executive System for Pavlodar Region held a professional competition among employees of the criminally-executive system. Representatives of five correctional facilities in the region, as well as the probation service, took part in the competition.
The competition provided a platform for demonstrating professional knowledge, practical skills, creative potential, and dedication to service. Participants had to complete three stages, each designed to highlight different aspects of their professional activities.
The first stage, “I Am a Professional,” focused on the participants’ personal stories. Employees introduced themselves and spoke about their professional journeys, achievements, and work experience, demonstrating the paths they had taken in their chosen careers.
The second stage, “Law and Professionalism,” required contestants to demonstrate not only in-depth theoretical knowledge but also the ability to apply it in practice. Participants had to solve three situational tasks involving knowledge of the internal regulations of criminally-executive system facilities, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Probation,” and the Nelson Mandela Rules, which establish the minimum standard rules for the treatment of prisoners.
The third stage, “The Future of the Criminally-Executive System,” gave participants an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and present their own vision for the further development of the criminally-executive system. Through prepared videos and presentations, employees shared their ideas, perspectives, and proposals, illustrating how they envision the future of the service.
The contestants’ performances were evaluated by a qualified jury comprising Azat Arykov, Deputy Head of the Department of the Criminally-Executive System for Pavlodar Region and Colonel of Justice; department heads; Rustem Kaisagaliyev, Head of the Antares A Public Foundation; and Kazbek Imankulov, Chairman of the Council of Veterans.
Before the competition began, Azat Arykov addressed the participants with welcoming remarks, wishing them good luck, confidence in their abilities, and success in their performances. He noted that participation in the competition itself was a sign of recognition from colleagues and the management of their respective facilities. Each contestant had passed a selection process and earned the opportunity to represent their team at the regional level, meaning that, in a sense, each was already a winner.
Throughout all three stages, the participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, professional competence, responsibility, and a commitment to continuous development. Each contestant approached the assignments with great seriousness, striving to showcase their knowledge, experience, and individuality to the fullest.
The competition results were as follows:
First place went to Kamila Dyussembенova, Junior Sergeant of Justice and Controller of the Regime and Supervision Department at Facility No. 63.
Second place was awarded to Ayan Smagulov, Senior Lieutenant of Justice and Unit Supervisor in the Department of Educational and Social-Psychological Work with Convicted Persons at Facility No. 44.
Third place went to Aigerim Asqarqyzy, Senior Lieutenant of Justice and Inspector of the Pavlodar City Probation Service Department.
